2015 Community Impact Awards Finalist

For the second year in a row, Rêve Academy has been named a finalist of Minnesota Business magazine’s 2015 Community Impact Awards in the “Youth Initiative” category.

The award recognizes programs by Minnesota companies that teach children skills, introduce them to fields of work and inspire them to become leaders of tomorrow. “We believe in doing good business,” says Kristin Pardue, co-founder of Rêve Consulting and Rêve Academy, “and an important part of who we are is our effort to help kids harness their own dreams by equipping them with the skills needed to thrive in the future. We are so excited to have grown the academy into one of the most innovative youth programs in the city.”

Amongst many accomplishments in 2014, Rêve Academy served a record 1,000 students through its out-of-school program, and took sixteen interns on a summer trip to San Francisco to meet some of Silicon Valley’s most exciting new companies. “We are honored to be considered for the Community Impact Awards,” says Therese McCauley, Associate Executive Director of Rêve Academy. “Everyone now seems to be realizing the importance of preparing the next generation for the types of jobs required in the global knowledge economy. The reputation that Rêve Academy has built over the last four years positions us well to be part of the important conversations that will impact education serving area youth.”

In 2015, Rêve Academy will continue to increase the number of students served, and substantially enlarge its intern pool to further grow their student-run businesses. The Academy will also develop its curriculum to include more advanced topics such as Design Thinking, HTML Coding and SEO Analytics, and launch a 3D modeling and printing program.
